This with Reaper’s implementation of ReaControlMidi. Sonar doesn’t hold the wide advantage it had a few months ago. Still not optimal, but a giant gap was closed. These are really good comparisons and observations.įor me, the midi handling of hardware was a complete loss in Reaper until ver 3. Midi in REAPER is catching up fast, in fact it already does all I want - just not everything everyone wants However it's been a long time since I use Sonar, but all I am hearing is Sonar is good with midi. Pretty much if you have a stab at trying to do something with REAPER it will oblige once you know it and get the idea. Love the way it follows logic with modifier keys for mouse actions on the mixer and track items
Open project with plugs off-line, edit project text files to fix buggy tracks, design you own theme are all cool.Īll tracks can do everything with all kinds of samples/items in free positioning is phenomenal, every daw I ever used stopped the show if you did something it didn't like. I happen to think copy/drag (with settings) FX in mixer is cool, drag sends and folders (routing) is cool, FX per item is cool. How many of us know REAPER very well and SONAR very well? This is a bit silly because the only people that can comment with authority is those people that know Sonar very well. Reflected, and anyone else, please do a search lol
